W2 Films is a Minneapolis-based video production company producing artistic, high-production-value content for commercial brands and non-profit organizations.  We specialize in bringing a high-end, cinematic approach to content within an extremely efficient cost and timing workflow, allowing brands and organizations to deliver more quality video content through the growing multi-platform digital and social media channels.  We employ the latest in digital filmmaking technology and software to enable fewer people to do more with less.

// Our Method

01. High-Caliber Tools and Talent

We’re a collection of experienced producers, directors, cinematographers, editors, animators and designers with the proven talent and versatility to create powerfully engaging content. Both short and long form, from storytelling to broadcast commercial, the work we create leverages our depth of experience in filmmaking and brand communications. And the impact of our cinema-grade gear is seen in everything we create. The result is authentic and high-value video content that is directly accountable to a business or brand objective.

02. Nimble Production

Effective content marketing comes from continuous engagement of the brand story.  And high production values are needed to give the brand credibility.  To maintain both within the confines of time and money, we’ve honed a competence of producing more with less - driven by an extremely efficient production process and a tight collaborative workflow. It’s about fewer people doing more, leveraging state of the art digital technology, and keeping every element of production and post production within a single workflow. And our lean and responsive service structure allows us to provide only what's needed and to be plugged in at any level or at any part of the process.

03. Circular Workflow

We accelerate the process of getting content built while allowing our partners to be engaged and collaborate from start to finish - from multiple iPad monitors on set to collaborative edit sessions and virtual post production edit and review processes. Partner input and collaboration is fed into the process in real time and new content is created on the fly to address it. For example, in studio we’re simultaneously shooting and editing so that what we’re creating can be as tightly crafted as needed (no more “I wish we shot a reverse angle”). And our cloud-based IT infrastructure centralizes the post production process allowing multiple editor access (both ours and our partners) across locations for efficient and reliable creative asset management. It’s a smarter workflow that yields more than a single deliverable from one source. It’s a shared and iterative process that leverages everything that’s being shot and created to yield derivative content downstream. We’re thinking beyond the single video to a full year plan that considers the continually fragmented distribution channels. What was once linear and finite - concept, script, shoot, edit, finish - is now circular and continuous. The result? A steady stream of content to feed the social media machine.

Also known as the “triple bottom line,” companies and individuals alike have realized that the pursuit of financial goals is not exclusive of an ambition to contribute to the greater good. In fact, they are inextricably linked. Once referred to as social responsibility, the formula is now much more woven into the business model of every successful brand. The recognition of an individual’s contribution to their community and the world is mirrored in how companies and brands see their own responsibility to the people that make their profits, and to the environment that sustains them. It’s a pursuit of an ethical standard, and the result is an accountability to the human and physical resources that contribute to the very fabric of the brand that fuels them.

At W2 Films, we strive to be good stewards of the resources we’ve been afforded, to embrace a diverse workforce eager to contribute, and to find ways to use our talents to make a positive impact on the world. The prosperity of the brand we’re building is at the forefront of everything we do. But if that’s all we have in our sights, then we’ve left what’s most important out of the equation altogether.
